There's a slew of 2008 park announcements this week, as Six Flags and Hersheypark release information about new attractions for next year:
At Hersheypark, an Intaride vertical lift inverted coaster, Fahrenheit, will feature a 90-degree lift and 97-degree drop.
At Six Flags Great Adventure, Six Flags Great America and Six Flags New England, The Dark Knight Coaster will debut as the company's first themed indoor coaster that I can recall. It sounds like a wild mouse design, but with a Batman vs. The Joker theme.
New or reinstalled coasters also will debut in 2008 at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, Six Flags St. Louis and Six Flags Fiesta Texas.

The building inspector in Agawam, Mass. has ordered Six Flags New England to stop work on The Dark Knight Coaster, under construction at the park. The Batman-themed indoor roller coaster is slated to debut at SFNE, as well as several other Six Flags parks, later this spring.
According to an AP report, town officials claim that Six Flags began work before having the proper permits and permissions in place. There's a meeting coming up on March 5, to sort out the snag.

Six Flags scraps plans for Dark Knight coaster in New England

It looks like Six Flags New England will not be getting a new indoor roller coaster, after all.
Almost two months after local officials ordered construction to stop after a permit snafu, Six Flags has announced that it will not go ahead with the announced "Dark Knight Coaster" project. Work that has been completed on the project will be dismantled.
Six Flags officials in a press release cited an inability to get the coaster finished by its planned Memorial Day opening as a reason for canceling the project.

Our family visited Hershey, PA, Hersheypark & Amish Country last June '07 and really had the most wonderful vacation. We really enjoyed Hersheypark and thought it was very clean and had lots of rides throughout the park for both our 3 year old & 7 year old (ages at that time). The Hershey candy characters were lots of fun for Photo Op's too.
I highly recommend HersheyPark too as a great theme park to visit. Don't worry though, WDW will always be my absolute favorite!!
