LOL!

Imagine if they forgot to put out the warning though? That could have some interesting results to say the least.

Yeah The one time before they put the warning out, they thought it was a friendship boat exploding!

Question for those in the know.

How often do they do this, is it every night or just once every now and then?
When do they do it, is it straight after ROE or later on at night after most people have left?

It might be worth making the family hang around one night to see it .

I'm pretty sure its a nightly thing.

It happens after most if not all have left the park, but I'm not sure how consistent the timing is. We saw the glow from it one night from our BWV room at around 10:45pm. We have often been in the park at 10pm and it still had not happened yet.

If you have seen Illuminations: Reflections of Earth recently, you may have noticed something missing. No, they have not permanently changed the show, the engineers at the Epcot Theme Park have temporarily pulled the Inferno Barge for some repairs and refurbishments. The Inferno Barge is scheduled to return to the popular Walt Disney World Resort laser light and firework show on March 8.

An integral part of the show’s beginning, the Inferno Barge uses liquid-propane to send fire balls ranging from 40 to 60 feet high into the air and water surface of the World Showcase Lagoon. The barge shoots 400 gallons of propane from 37 nozzles during each show. The Inferno Barge erupts during the beginning of the show just before the globe appears and enters the center of the lagoon. The eruptions is a representation of the Earth’s creation, along with the fireworks in the sky and the water fountains shooting water.

It used to be that once the show ended, Epcot engineers conducted an “Inferno Barge Burn Off” at approximately 10:30 p.m., a procedure to get rid of any extra propane left in the nozzles. This was not usually seen by guests, however on nights when the park was open late guests were able to see this process in action. Since 2008 the final burn off of the Inferno Barge is a part of the show and occurs with the final cue of the barge.

The other time that the Inferno Barge was pulled from the show was on Sept. 19, 2005, after a left over firework in one of the air launch tubes exploded on the barge. Luckily no one was injured, but the Inferno Barge was heavily damaged. It did not return to service until Feb. 1, 2006 and no longer had air launch systems for fireworks on board.

Illuminations: Reflections of Earth can be seen from anywhere around the World Showcase Lagoon in the Epcot Theme Park. Show times are 9 p.m. nightly, except for Fridays, when the show is an hour earlier at 8 p.m.

They've incoperated the burnoff into the last propane que during the show now. They could release the propane w/o igniting it, but the smell would be awful. We used to use small propane cannons in show I did.

Sorry to bump this thread, but I'm a bit confused - they do the burnoff as part of the show now, so no special burnoff at the end of the night anymore?
