Mickeyspal, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride is still in Disneyland. They didn't remove it from that park.
I'd like to go to DLR and the West Coast some day, DatD; I don't know if I'll ever do it, but I'd sure like to. Glad to see you posting with us again! - MP

MP, a Disneyland trip should be on every Disney fan's bucket list (in my opinion anyway). I'm not going to lie -- if WDW is the only Disney park you've ever done the size difference is going to hit you pretty hard. But there's a coziness, almost an intimate feel to DL (and DCA to a lesser degree). Combine that with the history/nostalgia associated with it and you've got a totally different experience when you visit. I won't say it's a better experience; to me arguing the whole DL/WDW superiority crap is like fussing over whether or not a Dole Whip is better than a turkey leg.

Finished my Mr. Toad kart. It looks okay I guess (chassis design is limiting what I can do with it) but what's really exciting me is how the Test Track kart is coming along.

I'd love to go out to the West Coast and DLR, Unc. I don't think the size would bother me as I wouldn't be looking to compare the two. I'd want to enjoy it for itself, Walt's first park, the spark of his theme park dreams. To get back on topic, why don't you try to do a Main St. Fire Engine and Mickey's classic 'Little Red Car' with your designs? They would probably come out great, too. - MP

Yes I have actually. My son got it for Christmas -- I've played it some but not in the past couple weeks or so. I did a review of it as a Bonus Levels segment about the time it came out but that was a while back and I probably should revisit it now that I've got a fresh perspective.

Okay... it's been quite a while since I last posted any pics. Part of that is because we've been caught up playing a few other games but I have been working on stuff from time to time. Plus I discovered that I could take better pics of the karts when they're in the workshop (don't ask how I went this long without noticing that) so I also took some additional shots of the ones I've already posted. Let's start with those, shall we?

Me -- or at least, the "me" in the game. Even HE has more hair than I do.

The Tomorrowland Speedway kart. My favorite part is the number stickers.

The "Lightyear Special." One of the best parts about taking pictures in the workshop is that you can more clearly see the seat & steering wheel (which is supposed to look like an instrument/control panel).

The Big Thunder Mountain Railroad kart. Yep, that's even a steam engine back there.

The Astro Orbiter kart. I am SOOO much happier with these shots than the first batch as these show it much more clearly. I also changed the engine since then.

The Incredobile kart. This time I was even able to get a good view of the jet turbine exhaust.

The Mr. Incredible Disney Racers kart. I think I may start pulling from there for inspiration when I run out of ride vehicles.

And now for some new ones...

This one, obviously, is based on the ride vehicles from Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. This one was especially tricky as there really wasn't any kind of body style that looked exactly like the real thing and the sticker shapes are rather basic. But hey, now you too can get out on the track and let everyone else know that you're happily on your way to nowhere in particular.

Without a doubt, one of the most complex sticker jobs I've ever done is when I decided to create this kart based on the Light Runner (the 4-wheeled vehicle) from "TRON: Legacy." I had seen a few TRON-inspired karts out there already, but really hadn't seen any that I really liked. Which of course meant that I would have to make one myself.

When I wrapped up that one I was looking at pictures of Clu and thought his outfit with the yellow accent stripes looked cool. So I figured I'd work up a version of my TRON kart with that color scheme.

I do make up a few non-Disney karts from time to time. Only one of these is currently published to the MNR community though.

"Trashasaurus Rex" -- my first attempt at a themed kart. I've learned a good bit since then but I still like this one. And yes, it's nuclear powered.

This is the "Retro Rambler," which is what I usually race with when I'm not test driving a Disney design. No particular rhyme or reason to it aside from stuff I think looks cool.
